Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) dates back to the 21st Century
BC. In these ancient times, people came to realise that some plants and animal
parts had dramatic effects when consumed by humans. Four thousand years ago the
Chinese Emperor Shen Nong devoted himself to the development of agriculture and
discovered many plants with pharmacological properties.
In the intervening years, it has been painstakingly researched and
extensively practised. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a truly natural form of
healing power, aimed at treatment of the whole body, rather than just the
symptoms. Traditional Chinese Medicine is the oldest and most natural form of
medical care known to mankind. It includes acupuncture, herbal therapies and
massage treatments, used in isolation and combination.
